FAQ
What are your minimum plant order numbers?
Our minimum wholesale order is 120 plants. Orders for less than 120 plants can be processed but are charged at retail price.
Do you have a shop where I can look at your plants?
No, our nursery is not open to the public. This helps us to maintain a sterile growing environment for our fragile young plants and ensures all plants leaving Arowhenua Native Nursery and Restoration are in top condition.
Where do you source your seed from?
Seeds are sourced from private land with remnant native bush across South and Mid Canterbury as well as the Mackenzie District, depending on the habitat required.
Can you source rare plants not listed on your website?
Yes, in most cases we can grow-to-order any local species or for larger orders, species sourced beyond our boundaries. Growing-to-order can take between 6 months to 3 years depending on the species.
What are your shipping options?
We can deliver orders locally to Timaru and Temuka, customers can collect their orders at the nursery upon agreement, or we can organise freight with Temuka Transport. Delivery of restoration orders are included in the restoration contract.
When will my order be ready?
We will give you an estimate of your collection date after you accept your order. Orders may take several days to be ready, to ensure your plants are in pristine condition.
Do you offer landscaping services?
We can offer botanical consultation, but we are not qualified landscape designers. We can work with qualified landscape designers to ensure the success of your plants.
Will you visit my property to make sure the plants I’m getting are suitable?
We offer assessments and site visits as part of the quoting process for our restoration services.
What size plants do you sell?
Our plants are sold in T7 (7cm), TX90 (8cm/900ml), 1 litre, and 2 litre pots.
